Lauryn Marie Burks
There’s a whole lot to love about Lauryn Marie Burks. She is extremely bright, very articulate, and deeply imaginative. She created her first story, My 100 Hands, at age 5 and followed it up with My 100 Hands Go To School, at age 6. Lauryn is a voracious reader, who feels right at home in the library. She is also the student who is not happy with having one B and the rest A’s on her report card. She expressed great pride in getting all A’s on the latest one.
Lauryn’s acting and theater skills are budding too! She has developed a passion for the Arts and has become very comfortable in front of the camera and on stage. In the fall of 2015, she made her acting debut in the short comedy film called My Brother Mickey, by the Sundance Film Festival award winning Director, Selena Burks-Rentschler. She also starred as Annie in Waterloo Elementary School’s annual production for 2016. The lead role is highly coveted and rarely has a 3rd grader been cast in it. No one is more proud of Lauryn than her parents, who are all smiles to see her coming in to her own.
